VISA REQUIREMENTS

Vietnamese visa is a kind of travel document granted by Vietnamese competent authorities, providing permission to travel to and enter Vietnam.

An electronic visa (E-visa) is one of the visa types issued to foreigners by Vietnamese Immigration Department via electronic system. Vietnam E-visa is valid for a maximum of 90 days, single or multiple entry.

For those international delegates who have to apply for a Vietnam visa, please kindly send an email to Vietnam Bar Federation at: irc@liendoanluatsu.org.vn and provide us with the following details:

  • Full Name
  • Jurisdiction
  • Passport Number
  • If possible, please let us know if you are a speaker at the conference or leader of a delegation/bar association/Law Society

This information will help us to coordinate with Immigration Department of Vietnam in supporting delegates. All information provided will be kept confidential.


VISA FREE COUNTRY LIST

Temporarily, here is the list of countries that do not need to apply for a visa to enter Vietnam (with maximum duration):

  • ASEAN Region:
    • Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos (up to 30 days)
    • Philippines (up to 21 days)
    • Brunei, Myanmar (up to 14 days)

  • Other Asian Countries:
    • Japan, Korea (up to 45 days)
    • Kazakhastan (up to 45 days)

    • Kyrgyzstan (up to 30 days)

  • Europe
    • Germany, France, UK, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Russia, Czech Republic, Poland (up to 45 days)

    • Belarus (up to 30 days)

  • America
    • Chile, Panama (up to 90 days)

Notice

To enter and stay visa-free, delegates must ensure the following conditions:

  • Valid passport issued by competent authorities of the country of which they are citizens

  • Passport valid for 6 months from the date of entry into Vietnam (2 blank page)

  • Evidence of return flight ticket or onward ticket to other countries

  • Not subject to any prohibition or restriction on entry under Vietnamese law
